Our contest was created to prove that even in times of crisis, Empathy Can Go Viral. In a world where we are physically disconnected more than ever, we also have the opportunity to be as connected as ever, and to support and inspire each other, even from afar.
Here's what you can do with your stay-at-home time --- Create an original artwork using any medium. Take a high-quality photo of it using your phone (unless it's already a work of photography), and enter it in our T-shirt for Hope Contest. You can also buy your own T-shirt For Hope, with your original artwork printed on it. The deadline for submissions is May 30th, 2020.
The five winners chosen by our judges will have their T-shirt for Hope shoppable on lisavontang.com. Our winners will receive a bespoke piece designed by Lisa Von Tang, a petite art piece personalized by our acclaimed judge Marcus Aitken, and of course, their own T-shirt for Hope. Virtual classes from wellness studio Space2b will also be awarded.
Our Panel of Judges will vote on the top 5 submissions, and the winners will be announced on Sunday, June 10th, 2020.
Buy your own LVT's T-shirt for Hope, which we will custom make for you within one week of submitting your image, or, wait and buy one of the winner's designs, which will be produced and shoppable on LVT after the contest ends. Each purchase of a T-shirt for Hope will include a $25 USD donation to WHO's Covid Relief Fund.

Dawn is a celebrated Singaporean artist, who works across a breadth of mediums, ranging from text, illustration, collage, light, sculpture, to installations. Beyond being commissioned by Hermès, Dawn’s art has been acquired by the Singapore Art Museum, and exhibited at the Musee d’art contemporain de Lyon, the Lille3000 art festival, France, Art Basel Hong Kong, Art Paris Art Fair, and shown internationally.
Shruti Ganguly is an iconic filmmaker based in New York City, and founder of honto88. She was on Obama's ECCO committee of 30 entertainment leaders, and has worked with the likes of James Franco and Keanu Reeves on her productions. Shruti previously ran the video departments of MTV, Conde Nast and Nylon. In 2019, VOGUE named Shruti as one of the Top 50 Indian Women Creating Legacies Across the Globe.
Talenia Phua Gajardo
Talenia is the Founder of The Artling, the world's top website for Asian Art. Her online platform lists over 250 galleries and 2,500 artists from around the world. As a serial entrepreneur and trained architect, Talenia lives for good art and design. Her team loves working with both personal and corporate clients, including Google, Twitter, Shiseido, the Four Seasons, and Swarovski.
Representing India is the beloved Sophie, who is an actress, singer, fitness icon, co-founder of Fittox as well as star of her own Voot Fitness Show, 'Work it Up with Sophie'. This ex-MTV VJ is a beacon of hope during the Covid-19 crisis, encouraging her 2M+ followers on Instagram to come out stronger, kinder, and more united than ever. Sophie has also participated as honorary host for the shows of Bollywood's top couturiers.
Marcus is a contemporary artist and painter, living and working in London. He was recently named as Saatchi Arts top 20 emerging artists to watch in 2020. He uses a combination of layering, distressing and blending to build a multifaceted surface, adding a sense of depth and drama to the work. Marcus comes from a design background and has evolved his practice through mixed media, sculpture and jewellery design. He grew up in Algarve, Portugal.

Lisa Kristine is an internationally recognised humanitarian photographer and change-maker. Born in America, for more than thirty years Lisa has looked for the peoples, cultures and places that time forgot, creating unforgettable images. She brings the distant, ancient, and the rare into clearer focus. Best known for her evocative and saturated use of colour, her fine art prints are among the most sought after. Lisa wants her audience to gaze into the eyes of the Other and find there a familiarity. In 2017, she founded the non-profit Human Thread Foundation.
French photographer Eric Lafforgue is well-known for his humanist approach to his craft. Eric offers in his pictures and travel stories a positive and benevolent gaze of the countries he visits, perspectives that are often unknown to the public. For example, he has photographed tribes in Papua New Guinea. In 2006, Eric began publishing his photos on the internet, and they were shortly noticed by magazines worldwide. He now works alongside National Geographic, Der Spiegel, Le Monde, Lonely Planet, Times, and Grands Reportages, amongst other esteemed publications.
English photographer Jimmy Nelson grew up with a geologist father who travelled all over the world. Jimmy loved living among different peoples. The peoples Jimmy meets don’t share a common language with him, but he believes there are always ways to connect. Jimmy’s photographs of indigenous peoples capture their uniqueness and importance. He wants humanity to stand united in diversity, to meet common challenges. His books Before They Pass Away and Homage to Humanity contain interviews, stories, questions, and insights. The Jimmy Nelson Foundation has run multiple world-wide awareness campaigns.
Grace is a Korean Art Dealer, and works with Baik Art - a cutting-edge contemporary gallery with bases in Seoul, Los Angeles and Singapore. When she is not hunting for beautiful pieces at art fairs, Grace is representing Baik's artists to her exclusive clientele. What draws her to this work is the partnership between gallery and artists, and the ability to help artists grow with international residencies, traveling exhibits, and transpacific collaborations.
Solenn is a painter inspired by real people, with a following of over 6M on Instagram. This Filipino-French beauty is also an actress, supermodel, singer and host, and was recently documented while she poured 200 hours into her last large-scale painting. Solenn travels widely across the Philippines, to capture raw portraits of humanity, by first taking street images that she later paints into large scale canvases.
Jasmine is an English singer and songwriter, loved for her authentic character and ethereal voice. She began singing at the age of ten by filming herself singing and uploading the videos to YouTube, and now has over 3.5M subscribers to her channel and 600M views. Through her ingenuity, Jasmine has been able to chart in the top 10 in the UK, Australia, Germany, Austria, and Switzerland - all before turning 18. Her collaborators in recent years include Selena Gomez, and DJs Robin Schulz and Felix Jaehn.
Vishen is a Malaysian-born entrepreneur of Indian descent, author, and speaker. He is the co-founder and CEO of Mindvalley, and the author of New York Times Best-selling Book, The Code of the Extraordinary Mind. Perhaps one of the most inspiring humans to come out of Asia, Vishen has grown Mindvalley, a self-education company that offers online programs on mindfulness and personal growth, to serve 13M customers globally.
Most recently seen starring in the Netflix docu-series ‘Singapore Social’, Paul is an actor, TV presenter (HBO Asia, Channel News Asia), a dedicated eco-warrior and a social champion. From his trip to Nepal helping rebuild earthquake damaged homes for 'Habitat for Humanity', to multiple cancer-related initiatives and his own baby, 'All Clear', Paul's achievements show that his higher mission in life is to help the collective good.
Iza is a household name in the Philippines, where she recently hosted ANC's TV Show, "State of the Art", reviewing their burgeoning contemporary art scene. While having an illustrious career as actress and producer, spanning across both mainstream and indie cinema worlds, Iza is also known for her support of the arts and her inquisitive mind. Recently, Iza was hospitalised for Covid-19, and has since recovered.
Tyler Jackson is a multidisciplinary artist focusing in painting and photography creating a new vernacular that bridges the gap between abstraction and representational art. His work expresses external/internal struggle and the underlying constructs and forms that result. Jackson's paintings teem with a raw yet reserved energy. His diversity of subject matter, genres, and techniques parallels the multiplicity and complexity of themes he explores through his work such as grief, catharsis, conquest and elation.
These T-shirt has been designed to commemorate the battle of the world against the COVID-19 virus in 2020. It was tough. It was depressing. It was a challenge. But we survived. It is made from natural soft cotton with a comfortable slim fit. Limited edition only, and entirely made in Singapore

Our Panel of Judges will vote on the top 20, and choose the five winners.
The submitted artwork (including photography) must be original, and created by your hands.
Artwork that is deemed offensive and/or not respectful of our values at LVT (radical inclusiveness), by our team, will not be allowed into the contest.
Please send us a clear, high-quality image (taken with your phone is fine). If the image is not clear enough, we may need you to retake it.
All T-shirts will be printed with a special LVT Frame. We will add the frame for you with the words "#HopeisContagious" once you submit your artwork.
